Bridging the fluency gap
Fluency Focus is a carefully sequenced, evidence-informed reading programme consisting of twenty one-hour whole-class lessons for Year 5.
Each lesson focuses on a set of fluency strategies that are taught, modelled and practised — building pupils’ confidence, expression and comprehension over time.

Fully Planned & Ready to Use
Each lesson is fully resourced, with carefully selected texts, modelled strategies and built-in comprehension questions. Teachers are not creating fluency materials from scratch - the structure is already in place.
Consistent Teaching Routines
Fluency strategies are taught through a repeatable structure that pupils quickly become familiar with. This consistency builds confidence and ensures fluency is practised deliberately, not incidentally.
Supported & Straightforward to Implement
Clear guidance and supporting materials enable schools to adopt the programme quickly. Fluency Focus is designed to slot into existing reading provision without adding unnecessary workload.
